We are looking for an experienced tax associate that has obtained their CPA license. Our firm serves clients throughout the metro Atlanta area. We offer a Competitive Compensation package for the right person. Strong leadership, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services for our clients
- Prepare and review a variety of tax returns, including individual, partnership, corporate, trust, estate and not-for-profit annual reporting
- Resolve Federal and State notices via written communication and phone conference
- Possess an understanding of multi-state income taxation and nexus
- Possess an understanding of partnership taxation including book-ups under IRC 704(b)
- Identify and communicate tax and accounting issues to staff, management and partners
- Prepare and review income tax projections for corporate clients and understands the impact to owners
- Research tax issues and legislation and exercise professional judgment with respect to issue identification in order to develop solutions
- Familiarity with tax reporting/implication of owning foreign financial assets as well as CFC anti-deferral regime rules
- Identify area of specialization and is continuously refining skills, knowledge and expertise
Qualifications:
- Ideal candidates will have 2-5 years of experience of working in a public accounting firm
- Project management and organizational skills together with advanced writing and communication skills are essential for this position
- Ultratax and Thomson CS Professional Suite knowledge is a plus
- Experience serving clients in construction, real estate and manufacturing is also a plus
- Masters of Tax Degree preferred
